Ingredients & Items

  • 2 ounces bourbon whiskey
  • 1 ounce fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 ounce simple syrup
  • 1/2 ounce red wine (preferably a dry red wine like Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot)
  • Ice cubes
  • Lemon twist (for garnish)

Recipe

  1. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice cubes.
  2. Add the bourbon whiskey, fresh lemon juice, and simple syrup to the shaker.
  3. Shake the ingredients vigorously for about 15-20 seconds to chill and mix them well.
  4. Strain the cocktail into a rocks glass filled with fresh ice cubes.
  5. Slowly pour the red wine over the back of a spoon onto the surface of the cocktail. The wine will float on top of the drink, creating a beautiful layer.
